Stillborn Ghosts is a collaborative act of The Ghost Between The Strings & Stillborn Blues. It started when TGBTS exhumed some of the worse recordings of SBB, processed, edited & remixed them until he managed to make them sound even crappier (some people..., sbb1, sbb 4). SBB had his revenge by overdubbing and editing (with his own ultra lo-fi methods) some unused wonky loops and messy drones of TGBTS (Almost the same hole, Faust, Rost) This hybrid collection of living-dead tracks has... The Elektranuss Quartett was created during an improvisation workshop that took place during summer 2011 in Mont de Marsan (France). Bilton Mabbitt : drums Bierre Deury : analog synthesizer Bierre Poulez : prepared piano, trumpet, voice Karl-Heineken Sctoczachus : prepared guitar Recorded and mastered by Matthew Tyas ( 1 reviews ) Topics: experimental, improvisation, Elektranuss Quartett
The ghost between the strings is now a somehow defunct project, but some unpublished recordings are still waiting to be released. So let's say that "The tunnel at the end of the light" is his 1st "posthumous" album. It's made of a single track based on an e-bowed guitar improvisation recorded in 2009 in a rather lo-fi way, and that was slightly mixed / edited / processed in 2010/2011. We at Eg0cide Productions have no idea where Digital Mass come from, and even less where they are going/taking us with each new recording, but we are always ready to follow them in their sound experiments. For this new album their anonymous members have recorded atmospheric improvisations on acoustic instruments that were later processed and filtered, but not edited. No synthesizer/looping/sampling was used on these 3 tracks just instinctive playing and empirical sound processing. For the best... Topics: ambient, drone, improvisation, minimal
Coming after a few releases on H.A.K. Lo-fi Record, Treetrunk and Justnotnormal, TTWOSS 's "Danza" is an incredible vortex of improvised electronic sounds. THANATOGUSHI ID & THANATOMITSU V.02 kept the PSR48 & DSR2000 Yamaha synths at the core of their equipment, but have also added tapes, vinyls, rythm box (TR606) and radio. Topic: experimental, improvisation, industrial
Sound explorers Thanatogushi Id. & Thanatomitsu V0.2 are back with a new opus of Thanato Twist With Oleg's Sound System : another psychedelic dark trip between dead stars, unknown planets and black holes... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: anarcho-ambient, experimental, improvisation, soundscapes
Stillborn Blues isn't blues but minimalist, awkward, melancolic and lo-fi prepared / detuned guitar pieces played in the dark with too much delay and reverb... Topics: lo-fi, improvisation, prepared guitar
Le brûle-cendres is Kecap Tuyul first solo release. It is made of 2 tracks that were improvised and recorded in kt's bedroom studio on prepared guitar (with e-bow sometimes) in september 2011. No plans, no structures, no looper, no edits, no overdubs... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Kecap Tuyul, experimental, improvisation, prepared guitar
It's been a long time since I asked Watzatnoiz & Kecap Tuyul to record albums for Eg0cide. Last summer they both send me a chaotic batch of raw live tracks (bursts of sapsmodic noise & gritty spacey ambient from Watzatnoiz on VST synth (the Synth1 created by Ichiro Toda), minimalist psychedelic improvisations and lo-fi underwater drones by Kecap Tuyul on prepared guitar (with sometimes ebow and looper)) , and although I enjoyed their sounds a lot, it was difficult for me to consider... Mescalibur is an experimental musician, active since the late 60s, who focuses on improvisation with electronic tools. La feuille dans la flaque was recorded live in his home studio in february 2013. It consists of 2 long atmospheric improvisations, growing like a slow swirling fire... Topics: ambient, experimental, improvisation, Mescalibur, eg0cide
Last summer, Kecap Tuyul visted Mescalibur for a live meeting after many on-line collaborations. They selected the best parts of their improvisation sessions to publish the second volume of Mescalibur's "Lagrange' sessions", noisier and more agitated than the 1st volume (with tgbts), although also featuring some atmospheric / droney moments. NB: Since 2013 Mescalibur & Kecap Tuyul have chosen to call their duo "Helyptronics". Check "their blog for more free music... 4th album by Stillborn Blues (guitar, effects). Same minimalist gloomy detuned guitar pieces as usual - tired music for tired people... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: guitar, improvisation, lo-fi, melancholy, minimal, prepared guitar
Restes, Kecap Tuyul's new solo album is quite different from the previous ones, although, like most of his works, based on improvisations on prepared guitar. This raw material has been overdubbed later and gave birth to some kind of weird, foggy "songs" (?) Topics: experimental, free rock, improvisation, atmospheric, Kecap Tuyul, eg0cide
The only sound source used by TGBTS is guitar (often prepared and processed by some software treatments) to create dissonant experimental tunes and foggy dark soundscapes. Tracks available here were selected and compiled in end of april 2007, from 5 or 6 hours of ugly lo-fi crap recorded between december2006 and april 2007. They have many flaws in playing and/or recording but TGBTS has decided to make them available as the most representative (and hopefully less annoying) pieces of its new... This album is the first volume of the "Lagrange' Sessions", a serie of live collaboration by Mescalibur and guests. The CD-R version is available from Mescalibur's label Entropique Productions, packaged in beautiful hand-made cardboard digipacks. All sounds were improvised and recorded live at Mescalibur's Studio on november 21 of 2009. Philippe of Mescalibur has carefully edited and mixed these "anarcho-ambient" sessions (no overdubs) to result in 63 minutes of alien... Kecap Tuyul was invited to play live with the Crash Duo (Anton Mobin (prepared chamber, tapes) and Ayato (prepared guitar, tapes)) on september 30, for the Aperaudio show curated by Radio Campus Orléans. This totally improvised session was recorded and the 3 performers found it interesting enough to get a release (no edits have been made), available in wav, flac, ogg and mp3, with artwork by Anton Mobin Topics: Anton Mobin, Ayato, Crash Duo, Kecap Tuyul, experimental, improvisation, prepared guitar, tapes
New album by improv duo Half Evidence , Sillages will take you on an ocean of soundwaves, moving between wild maelstroms and peaceful atmospheric drifts. Topics: experimental, improvisation, Half Evidence, Charles premier, Kecap Tuyul, eg0cide
New album 2 X 2 is simply a collection of 2 live duos featuring Kecap Tuyul on prepared guitar were improvised and recorded in summer 2011 and 2012. Charles premier is an electroacoustic composer and improviser. He builds his own instruments, and used them in a live context for the first time during this sessions. Matthew Tyas is a multimedia artist (composer/songwriter, multi-instrumentist, improviser, film-maker). On this recording he played his main instrument : piano (prepared this... Rain Spirits, Half Evidence's new album has been recorded (mostly) during the rainy month of april 2013 in Champagnac-la-Prune. Totally improvised as usual, these tracks show the most melodic side of the band, including some almost bluesy/jazzy atmospheres - but still within the band's personal blend of peaceful drifts and grittier percussive/scrapping sounds. Topics: improvisation, home-made instruments, prepared guitar, Half Evidence, Charles premier, Kecap Tuyul,...
L'anorkhestra is a free improvisation band with variable members. The 2 tracks of Smashed Bulbs Enlightment were recorded summer 2012. They mix abstract landscapes and raw free rock blasts, in a way that sometimes reminds me the spirit of the most radical "kraut rock" recordings in the early 70s. Topics: improvisation, experimental, L'anorkhestra, Charles premier, Nicolas Fournier-Chavepeyre,...
Time after time, Half Evidence's sound becomes more incisive, and their playing more focused, alternating smoothly between meditative atmospheres and explosive intensities . Their new album Entreciel (consisting of 2 tracks improvised and recorded on 9 november 2014) features also a regular use of voices by both members Charles premier and Kecap Tuyul, which enhances the incantatory dimension of their music. Topics: experimental, free improvisation, Half Evidence, Charles premier, Kecap Tuyul, eg0cide
Half Evidence is a free improvisation duo formed in 2012 by Charles premier & Kecap Tuyul. Le Cachot Lumineux was improvised & recorded live on 11 october 2012. It shows their most droney / atmospheric (but not exactly quiet) side... Topics: experimental, improvisation, Half Evidence, Charles premier, Kecap Tuyul, eg0cide
In term of releases, PhiMinD is a newcomer (?) in the field of dark ambient / ritual music, but he amazed us by the quality and depth of his works.Ascisco was self-released in december 2013 and we thought it deserves more exposure - because this album is simply one of the best in its league that we heard in 2013. All tracks sound very focused and cohesive despite of their improvised nature. It also seems that no looping was used in these recordings - and this is something we find quite... The Raven is a multimedia collaboration of Ed End (video, featuring Damaris Baker as Lenore) and Thanato Twist With Oleg's Sound System (music) using Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem read by Basil Rathbone. This amazing work is as weird as catchy, as hypnotic as unpredictable. Topics: Ed End, Thanato Twist With Oleg's Sound System, Edgar Allan Poe, Basil Rathbone, experimental...
In his new album Larmes de feu (could be translated as Fire Tears), Mescalibur continues to explore the possibilities of his analogic synthesizer. This time the mood is rather dark and heavy. These 3 improvised tracks were indeed directly inspired by an intense state of pain caused by a long-term illness. Philippe of Mescalibur wrote more about this in text below (in french only, sorry) so we won't add more on this subject. All we can say is that the musical result is a powerful tornado of...
